Lets talk about early Marriage
Ok, so I don't know so much about other places, I can only talk about my country India. In a few families the moment a girl is 18 yrs old they start looking for a potential groom (even if she is not at all interested) a guy who can take care of their daughter well. In some scenarios the girl talks to her parents about her dislike of early marriage, in some scenarios she is forced into it, in some she is can't help it because of her family situation and well in some she wants to get married (Awesome).
Parents have responsibilities, a lot of responsibilities, one of them is getting their child, who is now an adult, to get married. This one responsibility really stresses them a lot. I mean lot lot lot...
First is financial, trust me not even finding a groom is the problem. The real problem is how big of a wedding do you want. For this some parents are ready and some parents try their very best still not able to make it and in some, they already have found a very loving, caring groom who doesn't want a single penny and just wants to unite with his beautiful future wife in Holy Matrimony.

The Second is the burden, no I m not talking about having a daughter as a burden (never) or making that beautiful wedding you always planned for, no what I m talking about is that getting you married, that is one huge responsibility and they just want to get over it so they can get some piece of mind as soon as possible, get it over with. This might be because of there are your siblings waiting after you, society, in few places if there are two children and the elder is a boy and younger is a girl, the elder can't get married until unless the girl gets married or maybe they want to get it over with, etc.
And if you say that you want to study more or work or do your goals ,your parents say "no problem do it after you get married, we will find you a husband who is supportive of your dreams" well the problem is that after marriage some just can't pursue these cause you get kids and after kids its really really hard following your dreams or even studying. I have seen countless women like who have given up on their dreams because of getting married early.
You notice that you behave very different in front of your family and behave very different with your friends. Like for example, You might be very childish but your parents will have no clue about that or you no in your mind you are not at all ready to get married at all cause you know you are is very childish or not mature enough to start a family.
I m a very childish person and I really don't think that I can start a family now. Young Brides go under so much stress because of this. Even the men, sometimes they will not be able to bear the pressure of the family. And this may lead to a very unhappy marriage.Which may lead to divorce And your children may point that towards you.
Marriage and Kids are Huge Responsibility.Understand Them
So parents sit and talk to your kids, step inside there shoes and try to understand. If you left them to follow their dreams they can really flourish with your support and help you with the marriage as well.
We really do understand your situation but please gives us the time we need. Everything has a time but it also depends on the particular individual, it's just like how one grasps a tune to a beautiful song some learn it quickly some take their time and there is nothing wrong in that. Just because one gets it done quickly doesn't mean you force it one the one who can't.
